Description
Albert House is a small tenement building from the later 19th century, with alterations made to the rear. It is two stories high and has three bays, designed in an L-plan. The exterior features polychrome brick with stone cills and segmental-headed openings on the northern side.
The north elevation, facing High Street, is symmetrical. It has a central panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight above it at the ground level, flanked by windows; the left window is bipartite. The first floor has regular fenestration.
The south elevation, which is the rear, displays a variety of elements in an asymmetrical layout, including a brick forestair on the right leading to a door at the first floor and an advanced wing on the left.
The building features a 4-pane glazing pattern in its timber sash and case windows on the north side, while the south side has a mix of sash and case windows along with top-opening timber windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped and mutulated polychrome brick stacks with cans. The eaves are deeply overhanging and have plain bargeboarding.
