Description
Wanlock House in Wanlockhead is a two-storey, three-bay house built in the mid to late 18th century. A central gabled porch was added in the mid-19th century. The windows were enlarged, possibly in the early 20th century, when a full-height fourth bay was added to the east; this bay now forms a separate house along with a low, modern addition that has been rendered. The building is constructed of rubble, painted, with contrasting ashlar margins. It features sash windows with plate glass in the original house and 12-pane glazing in the additional bay. There are end stacks, and the roof is covered with uniform slates.
