Description
2 Stewart Place in Wanlockhead is a former store built around 1800. This two-storey building has three bays and is situated on sloping ground, featuring a former shop on the ground floor and dwellings above. There is a near contemporary two-bay addition to the northwest, which has large upper windows. Access to the dwellings is at the first floor at the rear. The building is constructed from whitewashed rubble with painted margins. The original house has an off-centre door, and there is a door and a ground floor window to the right on the addition. The property features single plate glass sash windows throughout, straight skews, end stacks, and slate roofs, with graded slates over the addition. A cobbled pavement is present, and the higher ground at the rear includes flat bridges leading to the first floor doors of both the original building and the addition.
