Description

Burnet of Langholm, architect. Dated 1880. Simple Gothic church, 5 buttressed bays, 3-stage square tower at S gable, gabled vestry at N. Squared and snecked whin rubble with contrasting grey ashlar dressings; openings pointed and hood-moulded; stepped angle buttresses.

TOWER: south-facing 2-leaf door with nook-shafts; pointed openings to elevations, paired and louvred at top belfry stage.

20th century leaded glass windows to N gable, otherwise opaque modern glass throughout. Saw-toothed skews with cross finial at N; roofed with graded slates.

Ashlar-coped rubble-built retaining wall to S, main gate at E end with simple wrought-iron gates and railings and cast-iron gatepiers, pedestrian gate at W.
