Description

This is a detached cottage dated 1693, situated on Stockton High Street. It is constructed of dressed limestone and rubble stone at ground floor level, with chequered chalk and brickwork to the first floor. The roof is hipped and thatched, featuring an axial brick stack. The cottage has a gable end facing the road.

The east front is two-storey with a three-window arrangement. A ribbed-panelled door is located within a central latticed porch, flanked by three-light casement windows. The first floor has three-light casement windows, with a central fixed two-light window. The right return, facing the road, features a two-light ground floor casement window and a three-light first floor casement window positioned above a datestone inscribed "NF / 1693".

A brick and chalk outshut has been added to the rear, and the rear wall was rebuilt in brick during the 20th century, incorporating two-light casement windows.
