Description
Manor Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed from dressed limestone and chalk, with square-panelled timber-framing visible on the rear wall. The cottage features a half-hipped thatched roof and brick stacks. It is two stories high and has a front with three windows, all of which are casements. The central entrance is a glazed door, flanked by two 2-light casements on the right and one 2-light casement on the left. On the first floor, there is a 2-light casement and two eyebrow dormers, each with 2-light casements. To the left, there is a 20th-century extension designed in a similar style and also covered by a thatched roof. Above the front door, there is a medieval carved stone head. The rear of the cottage features timber-framing with brick nogging, a glazed door, and a single leaded light on the left, which has been partially rebuilt in dressed stone. To the right, there is a planked door in a chamfered case, two 2-light casements, and a small wooden mullioned light to the left of the door. The first floor has a 3-light casement and two 2-light casements in eyebrow dormers. Inside, the cottage is said to have chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel set on stone jambs.
