Description
No 24 is a detached cottage located on High Street, dating from the 17th century. It features rendered timber-framing and dressed limestone, topped with a thatched roof and a brick stack on the left side. The cottage has a gable end facing the road and is single-storey with an attic, presenting a two-window east front. The central entrance consists of a planked door beneath a gabled tiled canopy, with single-light casements on either side. In the attic, there is an eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement. The left side of the building has a gable end facing the road, which includes two-light leaded casements on both the ground and first floors, along with a small chamfered fire window to the right. The rendered rear features three single-light casements on the ground floor. Attached to the right side is a weatherboarded lean-to extension. Inside, the cottage includes a chamfered beam, planked doors, and winding stairs against the front wall, with a first-floor chamfered beam that has stepped stops.
