Description
This is a detached cottage, dating from the 17th century. It is characterised by square-panelled timber framing on a rubble stone plinth. The gable end wall is of dressed limestone, with a stack, and the roof is thatched with stone and brick stacks. The left gable end has a coped verge, and the right side a half-hip. The building has a gable end facing the road, with two bays. It is single-storey with an attic. The west front features a planked door and three two-light casement windows on the ground floor, alongside a single eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement window. A 20th-century brick addition is attached to the north gable end. The rear of the cottage has two-light casement windows and a large eyebrow dormer. The right return gable end, facing the road, has a chamfered first-floor light. Inside, the cottage features a chamfered beam with ogee stops, an open fireplace with bread ovens, and some wind bracing to the roof.
