Description
These two cottages, now combined into one dwelling, date to the 17th and 18th centuries. They are constructed of dressed limestone with some flint chequers, along with coursed rubble stone on the right-hand side. The roof is thatched, half-hipped, and features a brick axial stack. The cottages are two storeys high and have a two-window front. A gabled porch with a planked door leads into the left-hand cottage (No. 16). To the right of the porch, there are two three-light leaded casement windows. A curved projection indicating a former bread oven is centrally located, with a straight joint marking the division between the two cottages. The first floor has two two-light leaded casement windows. The right return has a planked door leading into No. 15. The left return has a single-light ground floor casement window, and two-light first floor casement windows. The interior is reported to contain chamfered beams and an open fireplace.
