Description
Nos 11 and 12 on High Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, which were rebuilt in the late 17th century. They are timber-framed and reconstructed in rubble stone, featuring a thatched roof with a coped verge on the left side and a half-hip on the right, along with gable end brick stacks. The cottages are single-storey with an attic and have two windows.
The entrance to No 11 is a planked door on the right, with two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds to the left. The attic includes one large eyebrow dormer with two 2-light mullioned casements. To the right, there is a lower single-storey timber-framed range with two 2-light casements at the front, a 2-light attic casement on the right return, and a rear lean-to porch that provides access to No 12, which also has two eyebrow dormers.
The rear of No 11 features a gabled porch and a large eyebrow dormer with two mullioned casements similar to those at the front. The left return of No 11 has a 2-light mullioned casement with a hoodmould on the ground floor and a blocked light in the attic.
