Description
No. 8 High Street is a Grade II listed building that consists of three cottages now combined into one. Dating from the 18th century, it features painted rubble stone and cob construction, topped with a thatched roof that has half-hips and brick stacks. The building is single-storey with an attic and has a four-window east front.
The right-hand cottage has a planked stable door positioned to the right of the center, flanked by two three-light leaded casements on the left and a two-light steel casement on the left, with another two-light leaded casement on the right. It also includes two eyebrow attic dormers, each with two-light casements.
The attached cottage to the left has a planked door to the right of center, with a single-light casement to the right and two two-light casements to the left. This cottage features two eyebrow dormers with two-light casements and a small blocked first-floor window beneath the eaves. The rear of the building has two-light casements and eyebrow dormers.
