Description
Diana's is a detached house located on Stockton High Street, dating from around 1700, with alterations and extensions made in the late 19th century. The building features coursed dressed limestone and a cob rear wing, topped with a thatched roof that has coped verges and gable end brick stacks. It is designed in an L-plan and is two stories high with a two-window west front.
The late 19th-century central porch is made of stone and flint, adorned with quatrefoils and heraldic arms on the frieze. The entrance includes a two-panelled inner door set in a chamfered depressed arched opening, flanked by three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. On the first floor, there are two additional mullioned casements.
To the left of the main house is a late 19th-century former school or parish room, which features a large three-light casement. The right side of the building has a two-light mullioned casement in the attic and an attached two-story addition with a slate roof. The rear of the house includes a two-story wing made of cob, which has tripartite sashes, while the main range's rear to the right has sash windows and a lean-to extension that features an oval datestone inscribed with "M/1840."
