Description

Hampton Cottage is a detached cottage dated 1657, as indicated by the lintel on the door. The walls are of rubble stone, and the roof is thatched on the right-hand end and slate on the left-hand end, with a brick stack at the right-hand gable. The cottage has two storeys and three windows, featuring 2-light wooden casements with lozenge-leaded lights, wooden cills, and rendered jambs; the ground floor windows are 3-light. A porch is centrally located, constructed of brick and pebbledash with a 20th-century Roman-tile pentice roof. The 20th-century plank door has an upper light, and the doorway has straight-chamfered jambs and a depressed-arch head.
