Description

Shepherd's Cottage is a mid-17th century cottage located in a row of buildings on Portesham Hill. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatch roof with block ridging. The cottage has been fitted with rebuilt 20th-century stone stacks at each gable end and is one and a half storeys tall. On the ground floor, there are two windows: a two-light stone mullion window with a label above it at the right end, and a small loop window in the center. The dormers are 20th-century two-light wooden casements with lead lights, and the cottage has wooden cills and lintels. The front door, located at the right end, is a plank-and-muntin studded door topped with a small clay-tile roof.
