Description
Hartley Cottage Hermitage is a 17th-century cottage with an 18th-century extension, located on Hartley Street in Minterne Magna. The building features rubble walls and thatched, gable-ended roofs, with end and near end stacks made of rubble and ashlar. It has a T-plan layout and is one and a half storeys tall, with a range of four windows. The two left-hand windows are stone mullioned, although the central mullions are missing. The cottage has two-light casements with glazing bars, and the ground floor right windows have wooden lintels. Hipped dormers are present, and the doorway is adorned with a chamfered four-centred stone head and continuous jambs.
