Description

The Old Cottage is a cottage located on the west side of Hindon High Street. It dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of dressed limestone and features a thatched roof with brick stacks on the left side. It is a single storey with an attic and has one window. The entrance consists of a planked door with a board hood supported by carved brackets to the left, and to the right is a 2-light casement window. There is a raking dormer that includes a 3-light casement window. At the rear, there is an attic dormer and a 20th-century lean-to extension. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in December 1985.
