Description

A pair of cottages dating to around 1800, located at the end of a row in Hindon High Street. The cottages are constructed of English bond brick, with a tiled roof featuring a half-hip to the left side and an axial brick stack. They are single-storey with an attic, and have four windows each. Each cottage features a planked door with a projecting hood supported by brackets, and a two-light casement window on either side. There are two hipped dormers to the roof, each containing a two-light casement window. At the rear is an added outshut with two-light casements, and a single hipped and one gabled dormer. The interiors were not inspected. These represent good, unaltered examples of cottages built for artisans in Hindon.
