Description
Willow Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of dressed limestone, featuring English bond brick on the gable end, and has a half-hipped tiled roof with brick stacks. The cottage has a gable end facing the road and is two stories high with an attic, comprising three windows across the front.
There is a central blocked doorway, flanked by a three-light 20th-century mullioned casement window on the right and a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement window on the left, with a restored one also to the right. On the first floor, there are three-light casements on either side of a two-light casement. The attic features two gable dormers, each with two-light casements. The gable end facing the road includes three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, along with a two-light casement in the attic. The rear of the cottage has a lateral brick stack. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey extension with a porch that serves as the current entrance. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in December 1985.
