Description
Tanswell is a semi-detached cottage dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of English bond brick with a tiled roof and features gable end brick stacks. The cottage is two stories high and has three windows with casements. The central entrance is a 19th-century four-panelled door that is topped by a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, with two-light casements on either side. On the first floor, there is a blocked window above the door, flanked by two-light casements. The left side of the cottage is finished in dressed limestone. An early 20th-century flat-roofed extension has replaced a former integral outshut; this extension retains a planked door and three-light casements on the ground floor, with the upper part constructed in brick cavity walling. The interior has not been inspected.
