Description

The Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with dressed limestone detailing, and has a tiled roof, with a brick stack on one side. The cottage is set with a gable end facing the road. It is two storeys and an attic in height, with a single window front. The front features a four-panelled door, protected by a flat wooden hood supported on brackets, situated on the left side, alongside a three-light casement window. The first floor has a three-light casement, and the attic has a two-light casement. A rear lean-to extension contains a 20th-century door and casement windows. The interior is said to contain an open fireplace with a timber lintel resting on stone jambs, as well as exposed ceiling joists.
