Description
Woodcott is a detached cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a red tile roof and features a brick and 20th-century artificial stone stack. The building has a rectangular plan and is 1½ storeys high. The central entrance has a part-glazed door set within a flat-chamfered surround. To the right of the door is a 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement, while on the gable end facing away from the track, there is a three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement on the ground floor and a similar 2-light casement above. The rear elevation includes a 2-light stone-mullioned casement and a very small casement on the far left, along with a 2-light raking half dormer on the upper floor. The cottage has a gable-end stack. Inside, there are chamfered beams, an open fireplace with a bressumer and original crane, and a stone spiral staircase. A 20th-century flat-roofed single-storey extension is present but is not of special interest.
