Description
Green Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse featuring square-panelled timber-framing set on a high dressed limestone plinth, with some areas repaired in painted brick. The building has extensions made of painted brick, with ashlar and brick stacks. It has a rectangular baffle-entry plan and a single-storey extension on the north gable end, along with further extensions at the rear right. The main body of the farmhouse is 1½ storeys tall, while the extension is 2 storeys.
The entrance front of the early range shows exposed timber-framing on the left, which is lit by a 3-light wooden casement with horizontal glazing bars. There are also two 2-light segmental-headed casements with glazing bars on the painted brick section. The entrance features an early plank door with a single glazed pane located at the junction of the timber-framed and rebuilt sections, topped by a raking tiled canopy supported on raking struts. A part of an exposed cruck roof truss is visible at the north gable end. The extension includes a segmental-headed 2-light casement, while the main roof has three hipped 2-light eaves dormers with horizontal glazing bars. The rear extension features a segmental-headed casement. The roof is half-hipped and has two axial stacks. The interior is not accessible.
