Description
The School House is a former school house built in 1843 by R. Pace of Lechlade. It is constructed from coursed and dressed limestone and features a slate roof with a cream-coloured brick chimney. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a projecting porch on the south side. At the rear, there is a 20th-century brick extension that is not of special interest.
The structure is two storeys high. The south front showcases a projecting gabled two-storey porch that has a four-centred arched entrance and a moulded hood with plain shield stops. The gable displays the arms of the Hicks family. Inside the porch, there is a plank door with fillets. To the right of the porch, there is a two-light stone-mullioned window with pointed-headed lights and carved spandrels. Above the porch, there is a smaller similar window, and two additional similar windows are located on the left gable end. The rear features similar windows and a plank door with fillets and a glazed panel. A gable-end stack is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
