Description

The Cot is a small cottage dating from the late 16th to 17th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill, which has been partly clad with limestone rubble. The cottage has a limestone rubble stack with a brick shaft and a thatched roof that includes decorative ridge thatching. The building has a rectangular plan with a lean-to extension on the left gable end. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the rear, which is not of special interest. The cottage is 1½ storeys high, with a 20th-century two-light casement window on the ground floor and a two-light eaves dormer above. A projecting stack is located at the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
