Description

Woodside Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with a later 18th-century addition. It is constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone, with brick and artificial stone rebuilt chimneys, and a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a single-storey attic addition to the west. The north front has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The outer windows are all three-light, recessed chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. The central upper-floor window is now blocked; it was originally a two-light casement. A central gabled porch addition features an oval arched doorway and cavetto moulded eaves, the moulding continuing across the gable face. There are pigeon holes above the doorway. The gable ends have a parapet with kneelers, and the end chimneys have been rebuilt. An addition to the right has an altered doorway where a former three-light casement window was located. The south side mirrors the north, with a symmetrical fenestration. A flat-roofed addition obscures most of the ground floor, but it is not of special interest. The original windows and doorway have been preserved internally.
