Description
The Old House is a detached house dated 1687 and 1727, with a 20th-century rear wing that is not of special interest. The building features random rubble with incised render, ashlar chimneys, and a stone slate roof. It is two stories high with an attic.
The front of the house has a full off-centre gable and scattered windows. There is an off-centre doorway with a chamfered opening and two dates on the lintel, leading to a plank door and a timber gabled porch hood. The ground floor has two-light casements, while the upper floor has three-light windows, and there is a two-light window in the attic gable, all of which have hoodmoulds.
On the west end, there are off-centre casements on both the ground and upper floors, with two-light and three-light configurations, and a three-light window in the attic, all recessed and chamfered with hoodmoulds. The chimney on the east gable end has been rebuilt. At the rear, there is a blocked central doorway with a deep stone lintel and an eaves-mounted chimney. The interior has not been inspected.
