Description

Milton Lodge is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is timber framed with brick noggings and has a tiled roof that replaced the original thatch. The building is single storey with an attic and was originally four bays, featuring a central half bay that contains a stack. The right bay was rebuilt in the 18th century to create a two-storey cross wing. The framing is arranged in small squares with corner braces, and the ground floor framing was replaced in the 18th century with diaper brickwork. The entrance is now located in the cross wing and features a six-panelled door. The windows have varied glazing, including 12 and 20-pane sashes with applied wooden hoodmoulds on the ground floor. There are raking dormers, and the stair in the cross wing has an 18-pane sash window facing the front.
