Description
Jade Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill, and has undergone rebuilding. The house is two storeys high and originally three bays wide, with a half-bay added to one end and a low 20th-century bay to the other. The front features a plank door sheltered by a large thatched hood, located in either the left-hand or right-hand bay. Each bay has a two-light casement window. Above, there are three-light leaded casement windows in each bay, and a two-light window in the right-hand bay. An added section at the right-hand end has a blank window. The roof is half-hipped, with a ridge stack located between the left-hand and centre bay, and at the right-hand end. A two-light casement window is found in the low addition to the left.
