Description

Old Timbers is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century, with remodels from the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with brick infill and alterations, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage consists of three bays, plus an added bay with a weatherboarded outshot. The front has an added bay on the left-hand side, which includes a swept-down hood over a plank door. Each bay has a two-light casement window, although the left-hand centre bay has a single light on each side. Above the centre two bays, there are 20th-century raised eaves with two four-light casements, and a two-light eyebrow dormer is located in the left-hand bay. The roof is half-hipped on the right-hand side and swept down on the left. A ridge stack is positioned between the centre bays, above the door and on the left-hand hip.
