Description

Bourne House is a timber-framed cottage with brick infill and some rebuilding, dating back to the 16th century, with later alterations from the 18th century. The cottage has a thatched roof and stands one and a half storeys tall, comprising three bays and a smoke/passage bay. It features a large thatch hood in front of the right side of the central small bay. Each bay contains a three-light casement window, and there is a three-light eyebrow dormer window in the left side of the central bay. The roof is half-hipped and has a large ridge stack positioned above the porch. Bourne House is recognized for its traditional materials and significant amount of original fabric.
