Description

Number 18 Market Place is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is faced in Chilmark stone. It features a moulded cornice and a parapet with moulded coping. The second floor has a panelled sill course, while the first floor has a block sill course. There are three recessed sash windows on the upper floors, which do not have glazing bars. The shop front, dating from the mid-19th century, includes Doric pilasters, a frieze with three panels, and a moulded cornice. Number 18 is part of a group with Nos 58 to 60 on Northgate Street.
