Description

Number 42 Market Place is a late 18th-century building that has been altered. It stands three storeys high and is rendered and painted. The ground floor features a completely modernised shop front. The upper storeys are divided into three full-height panels by strips that meet flush with a plain parapet that has coping. The centre panel is wider and has no windows. There are two recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and block sills. The roof is a gable end covered with pantiles. This building is part of a group that includes numbers 29 to 42 Market Place and The Market Hall.
