Description
Number 30 Market Place is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of brick on a stone plinth, featuring stone bands at both the first and second floor levels. A moulded stone cornice adorns the top, and there is a brick parapet with stone coping. The roof is covered with slate.
The building has two projecting bays on the right side, with bands and a cornice that are slightly advanced. There are three windows on the upper floors, with a central false casement on the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a six-panel door on the left, which is a flush type set in an arched brick recess. This door is topped by an arched fanlight made up of three radiating panes and three small segmental curves along the bottom, creating an attractive design. To the right, there is a modern shop front.
Numbers 29 to 42 Market Place and The Market Hall form a cohesive group.
