Description
These are two late 18th-century buildings situated on the north-east side of the Market Place. They are built of colour-washed brick, laid on two different planes. The front features a projecting cornice made of toothed brick, topped with a parapet and stone coping. Each building has a hipped pantile roof.
The front has two windows on the top floor, and the glazing on the right-hand window has been altered. The first floor has a three-light window on the left, and a wider window with five panes on the right.
The ground floor has two 19th-century shops. Number 33 features a three-light shop window and a glazed door, separated by pilasters with decorative composition ornament. The door itself has six panels at the bottom, a frieze, and a cornice. A central archway leads to an alley, with Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice that extends over the shop. The entrance has a wide six-panel flush door with a moulded panel above. Number 34 has a similar shop window on the left, which has been altered and set back, but retaining similar pilasters.
