Description

The Holt is an early 18th-century detached cottage located on Holt Lane in Teffont. Originally named Brookfield, it is constructed of dressed limestone with a thatched roof, featuring a hip to the right and a coped verge to the left. Brick stacks are also present. The two-storey, two-window front has two three-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows on both the ground and first floors. The right return serves as the entrance front and includes a 20th-century lean-to extension forming a porch. The attic contains a two-light casement. A second two-light casement is found on the left return. The rear of the property features a 20th-century extension and further two-light casements. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in April 1985.
