Description
Rose Cottage is a detached cottage with a 20th-century annexe, dating from the late 17th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features an oak shingled roof with concrete stacks. The gable end faces the road. The cottage is two storeys high with a two-window south front. There is a central 20th-century glazed door set in a gabled porch, flanked by three-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned windows, with a three-light casement window to the right. On the first floor, there are two-light and three-light diamond-leaded casements.
The left side of the cottage has a gable end facing the road, with a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned window on both the ground and first floors, and a blocked chamfered light in the attic. The rear features a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned window to the right of a 20th-century door in a gabled porch, with two three-light casements and a 20th-century dormer to the left on the first floor. A 20th-century two-storey rear extension, designed in a sympathetic style, includes two-light casements and a steeply-pitched roof. The front has a flat-roofed 20th-century extension. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel on stone jambs located at the west end.
