Description

Kiln Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof, and has gable end brick stacks. The cottage is single-storey with an attic, and has three windows. A gabled porch, built in the 20th century, contains a planked door and is located to the left of centre. To the right of the porch is a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned window and a three-light casement; to the left is a three-light mullioned window. The attic dormers feature two two-light casements and one three-light casement. The right return side of the cottage has a one-light casement window in the attic. Attached to the left is a weatherboarded extension with a hipped thatched roof, and contains a 20th-century door and casement window. A 20th-century extension with a thatched roof is located at the rear. The interior was not accessible at the time of inspection in April 1985.
