Description

Home Farm House is a detached late 17th-century farm cottage, with a mid-19th century rear wing. The house is constructed of rubble stone, with a thatched roof and gable-end brick stacks. The house has a gable end facing the road. The south front is two storeys high and has three windows. A four-panelled door is located to the right of the centre, within a stone porch. To either side of the door are three-light ovolo-mullioned windows, with a hoodmould over the left window and a small fire window to the left of that. The first floor has a three-light, a two-light, and a three-light casement window. The right return has a two-light ovolo-mullioned window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, and a similar two-light mullioned window on the first floor. The roof has coped verges. The rear wing has three floors, and on its right return are a four-pane sash window and a two-light casement on the ground floor, a sixteen-pane sash window on the first floor, and a three-light casement on the second floor, all under a hipped slate roof. The left return has a weatherboarded lean-to shed. The rear elevation features three-light casement windows. The interior was not inspected, but is said to contain an open fireplace at the west end, with a chamfered lintel resting on brick jambs.
