Description

Holt Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the 17th century. It is constructed with square-panelled timber framing and brick nogging, topped with a half-hipped thatched roof. A brick stack is also present. The two-storey building has a single window on its front facade. A planked door is situated to the right, alongside a two-light casement window to the left, and a further casement window on the first floor. A 20th-century outshut, with a catslide thatched roof, extends to the left and features two-light and three-light wooden casement windows. The right return gable wall is built of dressed limestone and contains a three-light casement window on the first floor. The rear of the cottage displays three-light and two-light casement windows. Inside, the cottage retains an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel resting on stone jambs, along with chamfered beams and exposed joists.
