Description

Milestone. Early 19th century. Made of cast iron by Figes of Sarum. It has a triangular section with a weathered top. The front two faces feature inscriptions on shields, reading "TO / SARUM / 3 MILES" on the left and "TO / LONDON / 79 / MILES" on the right. The manufacturer's name is displayed in a panel on the top piece.
