Description

Manor House is a house built around 1720, featuring irregular Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled roof. It has three storeys and a basement, with seven window bays across the front and two rear wings, creating an enclosed yard added in the 19th century. The ground floor is raised above the basement. The central three bays project slightly forward and are highlighted by stone rusticated pilasters. The entrance is elevated by eight steps and features a channel rusticated doorcase with stepped radial voussoirs, an eight-panelled door, and a fanlight above. On either side of the entrance are 18-paned round-headed sash windows set in gauged brick arched openings with keystones. Above the first floor is a stone pediment containing an oeil de boeuf, with the lower member extending as a cornice over the two flanking window bays. The upper floor has similar windows, and the side bays feature a tall attic storey with round-headed openings, one of which is blind. The side elevation includes narrow sashes that are two panes wide, with some being blind, and central stacks connected by an arch at the top. The roof has two parallel hipped pitches. The rear wing consists of two bays and two storeys, each with lateral stacks and twin diagonal chimneys.

Inside, the hallway features an arched stair with quarter landings, three turned balusters on each tread, and simple brackets, with a panelled dado. The stair continues to the full height of the house. The drawing room on the right has fielded panelling and a contemporary chimneypiece, while the dining room on the left also features panelling. The main bedrooms on the first floor have similar fielded panelling.
