Description
Hurdcott House is a house built in the early to mid-19th century. It features Flemish brickwork with grooved pointing and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has a central hall plan with service rooms located in two short wings at the rear. The entrance includes a recessed six-panelled door with panelled reveals and a margin glazed overlight, all set within a Tuscan doorcase topped with a flat corniced canopy. On either side of the entrance are 16-paned sash windows with 40cm gauged brick lintels above. There is a sun fire insurance plate above the central upper 12-paned sash window. The eaves are wide and boxed, and the roof is hipped, featuring late 19th-century perforated ridge tiles. At the base of the rear wings, there are two four-flue brick stacks. Inside, the left drawing room has a contemporary dentilled fire surround.
