Description

Milestone dating from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and has a triangular shape with two visible faces at the front. The left face has inscribed letters that read "To / Sarum / VI," and the right face reads "To / Shaston / XIV." This milestone marks the turnpiked road from Salisbury to Shaftesbury, which was established between 1787 and 1788.
