Description

Little Linleys consists of two houses, dating from the 17th century and late 18th century, which were formerly several cottages. The 17th-century part mainly comprises No 7 and a small section of No 8, while the larger part of No 8 is 18th-century and has been altered, making it of lesser interest. The original range is built of rubble stone with stone tile roofs and is low at one and a half storeys, enclosing three sides of a small court.

The first section, to the right, is 'L'-shaped with a gable facing the road. It features a 2-light ovolo-moulded window in the gable end, a 2-light window on the south side, and a door in the angle. This section has a south end stack, a blocked door with a hoodmould, and casements at the eaves. The rear has two 2-light ovolo-moulded windows with hoodmoulds.

The adjoining section includes a dormer gable, with a 2-light recessed cyma-moulded window on each floor and a door to the left. There is a roughcast gabled stair tower at the rear. The third section, which runs parallel to the road, has a dormer gable facing the street and a 3-light ovolo-moulded window at the rear.

The main range of No 8 features some flush cyma-moulded mullion windows, two blocked doors facing the road, and a whitewashed garden front with two pairs of casements above, along with a central 2-light window below and doors on each side.
