Description

Frog Cottage and Village Farm are a pair of semi-detached cottages dating to the mid-17th century with additions from the 19th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with dressed limestone detailing, and have a hipped thatched roof, with brick stacks. The entrances are at the rear. The front elevation is single storey with an attic, and has four windows. Two 20th-century porches and doors are set within 19th-century, single-bay, weatherboarded extensions to the left and right. The ground and first floors have four 2-light casement windows. The right return has three 2-light casement windows and a 20th-century casement within a weatherboarded wall, along with a 2-light casement to the attic dormer. The left return has a 3-light casement to the ground floor and a 2-light casement to the dormer. The rear, which faces the road, has two 2-light casement windows and two single casements, with two eyebrow dormers, each containing a 2-light casement. Internally, there are deeply chamfered beams with run-out stops. Open fireplaces feature chamfered lintels with run-out stops on chamfered stone jambs.
