Description

The Malthouse is a detached cottage dating largely from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed limestone with a thatched roof, featuring brick and ashlar stacks. The gable end faces the road. The two-storey, two-window south front includes a 20th-century door and porch, flanked by 20th-century casement windows on the ground and first floors. A 20th-century extension is attached to the left, connected to a single-storey range with an attic. The right return side has a casement window on the first floor. The roof has coped verges. The rear, north front features a four-light ovolo-mullioned window with a hoodmould on the left side and a 20th-century glazed door on the right. Further 20th-century ovolo-mullioned windows (three-light and two-light) are located on the first floor. A range to the right has a rear outshut with 20th-century casements. The interior has been altered and was not inspected.
