Description

A house with attached garden walls and piers, dating from circa 1850. The house is constructed of stuccoed and blocked-out materials, with a natural slate roof featuring gabled ends and end stacks with rendered shafts and platbands. It is slightly set back from and above the road.

The house has an asymmetrical three-bay front with deep boxed eaves. A decorative, late 19th- or early 20th-century enclosed verandah extends across the front with a lean-to glazed roof and dentil frieze below a bracketed cornice. The central entrance features a half-glazed door with margin panes and stained glass, with a further five bays of the verandah to the right, similarly glazed. One verandah bay has been incorporated into the house, and the bay to the left is open with a segmental head. A further bay to the left of the main entrance is glazed with paired two-pane sashes.

The first floor of the front elevation features a round-headed blind recess with a moulded arch and keyblock, flanked by 19th-century twelve-pane sashes. There is also a probable original gabled attic dormer in the centre, containing a two-light timber casement with six panes to each light.

The front garden is enclosed by local red breccia rubble garden walls with square piers topped with pyramidal caps.

The interior of the house reportedly retains original features, including late 19th-century tiling to the verandah floor, original chimney-pieces, a stick baluster staircase, and original joinery, although it has not been inspected.
