Description
The boundary walls and gate piers to the north of the Parish Church of Christ Church in Paignton are late 19th century, likely built around the same time as the church itself between 1887 and 1888. The walls are constructed from local red breccia rubble and feature shaped yellow brick coping. The gate piers are made of local red breccia, Bathstone, and local grey limestone. These square-section gate piers have chamfered corners and rest on plinths, with a moulded cornice and grey limestone pinnacles that are gabled on each side, topped with square red sandstone finials. The wall runs along Torquay Road in front of the west end of the church.
