Description
This building, located at 124 Torquay Road in Paignton, is a house dating from around the 1830s, possibly with an earlier core. It has a rendered exterior and a slate roof, with stacks that have rendered shafts. The house features a double-depth plan and an off-centre front door. It is two storeys high with an asymmetrical four-bay front, deep eaves, and pilaster strips on both the left and right sides.
There are steps leading up to a 20th-century timber front door set in a round-headed doorway, which includes a fanlight with two spoke glazing bars. The ground floor has three two-pane plate-glass sash windows, while there is a blind window above the front door and another on the first floor to the right. The first-floor windows are fitted with 12-pane early 19th-century sashes. Additionally, there are two secondary gabled dormers that have unfortunately been reglazed with aluminium windows. The front of the building is flanked by short sections of ramped walling that project to the left and right, surrounding a substantial plinth. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
