8, Lower Polsham Road

This is a house located at 8 Lower Polsham Road, dating from around 1850. It has a stuccoed exterior and a hipped slate roof, with chimney stacks that have rendered shafts—one featuring a platband and the other a projecting cornice. The building consists of two overlapping blocks, with the rear block raised by one storey in the later 19th century. It is slightly set back from the road and has two to three storeys with an asymmetrical three-bay front. The deep eaves are supported by moulded brackets.

On the ground floor, there is a high-transomed French window to the left with glazing bars, and to the right, a 12-pane sash window. The first floor features three 12-pane sashes, all with horns. There is a tented porch hood at the angle between the blocks on the right side, which covers a recessed panelled front door. The taller block at the rear has plate-glass horned sashes and one small pane sash on the right side. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features.
